welcome
My name is Kat Hall. I go by Kat Hall because that's my name! I'm glad you found my page.
I make music and I love to get people dancing and get people inspired after they experience my music.
I create a fusion of Reggae-influenced grooves with R&B elements and quite a bit of Funk.
My goal here is to spread a positive message of unity, empowerment, and to inspire you to be authentically, unapologetically yourself. After all, there's no other you that exists.
I was born in Jacksonville, Florida, where I grew up and found my love for music singing in church and in chorus at school.
My sister joined a Reggae band when she was 15 years old, so growing up in her footsteps meant going to Reggae shows and eventually getting on stage to be like my older sis.
When I got on stage, I felt like the most true version of myself. I was in my element and able to express myself in ways that I never could before. I'm incredibly grateful that I found music at such a young age. It truly changed my life and gave me a sense of purpose.
In high school I picked up my Dad's classical guitar and learned how to play on YouTube and through my best friend, Christina Carter.
We started playing around town and entered the talent show in high school. We won! Which sparked a love for writing original music and a new journey of performing.
In 2015 I went to college at Florida State University where I studied Social Entrepreneurship. Business classes were not my jam, but learning how to create a business that positively impacts the community WAS my jam. I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do in life, but I knew that music was my source of true joy.
I was determined to be the front woman of my own band. Thus, Pulsation was born. The project didn't work out, so I re-branded as "Just Chameleons". We played all over Tallahassee, and entered a battle of the bands to perform on the main stage at Okeechobee Festival. We won!
Performing at a festival with 32,000 attendees opened my eyes to the world of music festivals, and being an artist at a major festival was a pivotal point in my life and in my career. I attended another enormous and creative festival called Hulaween, and made it my goal to play there.
In 2018, my dream came true. Just Chameleons was asked to perform at Hulaween after we released our debut album in 2017.
The journey continued, but the band eventually fell apart as different members had different visions for the project. So, I decided to go solo as Kat Hall. During the summer of 2018, I landed an internship in LA at Studio 637, where I got hands-on experience as a social media manager and content creator at a recording and live stream studio. Luckily, the Studio 637 team believed in me and set me up for success in California.
I graduated from college and immediately booked a DIY tour up the coast to North Carolina and Nashville. Little did I know that my life would progress beautifully as I moved across the country to Long Beach, California.
